Also found as Bedam Shah Warsi · Bedam Warsi · Baidam Shah Waris · Bedam Shah Warisi

Bedam Shah Warsi wrote Urdu poetry about love and devotion. His poems show how rhythm, imagery, and carefully chosen words can express feelings that ordinary speech struggles to capture.

Reference notes

Rekhta · Bedam Shah Warsi

Reference note, paraphrased from Rekhta’s poet profile: Bedam Shah Warsi lived from 1876 to 1936. His personal name was Ghulam Hussain and Bedam was his pen name. Rekhta identifies him as an Urdu Sufi poet known for devotional poetry, with Nisar Akbarabadi as his mentor. His poems use a literary voice to explore devotion and longing; imagery in a poem is not automatically a record of an event in the writer’s life. The spelling Baidam Shah Waris in X’s automatic English translation refers to this poet; the original post names him in Urdu.

Rekhta digital library · Deewan-e-Bedam Shah Warsi (1935)

Reference note from the digitized book’s catalog and contents: Rekhta identifies Bedam Shah Warsi as the author of this 1935 collection, published by Hindustani Book Depo in Lucknow and contributed by Anjuman Taraqqi Urdu (Hind), Delhi. The contents include devotional verse and poems beginning with many different images and addresses. A deewan is a collection of a poet’s work. Reading a collection helps us compare recurring images, rhyme and the voice speaking in each poem. The source post’s specific lines have not been assigned a printed page in this edition; do not invent one. This is an external reference, not either of the two supplied books.

Research note: The X post is a poem attribution, not a full biography. Identity, pen name and literary work checked against Rekhta’s poet profile and its digitized 1935 Deewan. The Urdu original is preserved; the platform’s English rendering is not a verified literary translation.
